one last post befo re i turn in because i woke up at 1-ish today and can’t get to sleep. maybe i’m still excited about what i heard today. or maybe it’s because i had two days of quality time with people i love.

what do you love?

my top 5 things –

1. Jesus

2. Family

3. Friends

4. Church

5. what i do

a book stopped me in my tracks this evening and i just had to get it. besides the bible and glamour magazine, i hardly read anything else (tangible non work related things). so if you’re guessing the genre of book i picked up, if you’re wise enough, you’ll prolly guessed it right.

a wordless book. (okay, not totally void of words but suffice to say it was a photography book) Aptly titled “LOVE”  to tie in with this post, this is my favorite pic from the book. love how the picture is blurred and those heart-shaped lights.

love is the light that shines in the darkness and brings clarity to blurry skies.

if i asked you to sum “love” up in one word, what would you say?

mine would be – “JESUS”

xoxo

DECEMBER DRAWS NEAR. October 21, 2009

I love December! it is my favorite of months and it’s drawing near. as i told a close friend recently, in my opinion, it is the BESTEST MONTH EVER.

how time flies. seems like yesterday when pastor declared this the DEKTOS year. wow. what a year this has been. i cannot believe that i am already counting down to Christmas.

5 reasons why i love December:

1. Christmas! i love shopping for & buying gifts but not wrapping them. because i am simply not very good at wrapping them nicely! my friends know this. i know gd places to get really pretty pre-made wrappers, you can ask me :)

2. Birthdays! i know a number of people born in this very blessed month and majority of them are really close friends :)

3. Holidays! it’s an awesome time to catch up with family & friends as the year winds down and a new one prepares to open itself to a whole new journey of opportunities & fantasies.

4. Jesus! yes, though Jesus wasn’t really born in December but anytime/everytime is a great time to celebrate Jesus. His life and death. His end brought us hope for a new beginning. I love Jesus and am so glad He loved (loves!) me first :)

5. My friend’s baby girl. yes, M. this is for you. wooohoooo!! isn’t it exciting? a whole new chapter awaits to unfold, in your favorite month too, just for you :) i am so happy/excited for you. so happy/excited that i decided to dedicate this post to you :)

some fab clothing you can consider getting for your little princess…

my personal favorite is number 3 – born to shop (ofcourse!) but i decided to be practical and give you other more ideal choices to choose from :) there’s one that says “i get my good looks from my daddy” that i don’t think you’d choose…then again, maybe you would. hah! ;) “little miracle” is really beautiful too.

so many reasons and more, to love December. *smiles

xoxo

Life Is Good

READ: Romans 8:31-39

I am persuaded that [nothing] shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. —Romans 8:38-39

While shopping in a nearby tourist town, I wandered into a small store stuffed with clothing and other items all marked with the slogan “Life is good.” Sometimes we need to remind ourselves of that simple truth. When the work of earning a living, raising a family, maintaining health and fitness, and managing relationships starts to overwhelm us, it’s good to think about how small our part in the universe really is. While we obsess over our work, God quietly does His. He keeps the earth rotating, the planets revolving, and the seasons changing. Without any help from us, He makes the sun rise every morning and set every evening. Every night He changes the pattern of lights in the sky. He turns out the light so we can sleep, and turns it on again so we can see to work and play. Without lifting a finger, we get to enjoy sunrises and sunsets. Every year the seasons change on schedule. We don’t need to pray about it or tell God that it’s time to send spring. All that He does remi nds us He is good (Acts 14:17).

Life will at times be difficult, often it is painful, and for now it is imperfect. But still it is good, for in all these things nothing can separate us from God’s lavish expressions of love (Rom. 8:39). —Julie Ackerman Link

Thank You, loving Father, for the good gift of life. I thank You and praise You for all You do so that I can enjoy so much. Amen.

God’s grace is immeasurable; His mercy inexhaustible; His peace inexpressible.
